4days "OBON" ritual for inviting ancestors is starting from tomorrow. And I have started two weeks fasting from today as a ritual with plants from Amazon rain forest.
They are " A Holy horse and a holy cow" for welcoming ancestors. Beautiful Japanese spiritualism.
Traditionally we have summer spiritual days called "Obon" which is between 13th - 16th August, this is 4 days ritual to invite ancestors.
At first, we make wood fire at the entrance of home in order them to
find home easily. The cucumber horse has a role of picking them up for bringing them back home, the horse can run fast so they can come back home quickly.
During 4 days we spend with them and always feel their love and appreciate protection from them. Put some thing great or tasty foods on the altar for gratitude.
And then at the last day, we make again wood fire for thanking and wishing well to ancestors, and sending them back. The eggplant is a cow which has a role of bringing them back. The cow
walks slowly, so they can leave slowly and enjoy the echo of home.
